Youth & Family Counseling Services, LLC (YFCS) is a strengths-based organization that works to empower adults and equip them for success in the community and in their life. We endeavor to help them optimize their situation and achieve positive results in day to day life activities.

Mental Health Skill Building Services (MHSS) are time-limited training and supports that assist consumers with achieving and maintaining community reinforcement of independent living skills, identifying and using other resources in the community, assistance with medication management, and monitoring of physical health and nutrition.

Intensive In-Home Services

Youth & Family Counseling Services, LLC (YFCS) is a structured in-home therapeutic treatment program to serve children and youth who are at risk for out of home placement. 

Multiple Locations

Serving youth in Richmond, Petersburg and surrounding counties.

CRISIS STABILIZATION

Crisis Stabilization services are offered to individuals experiencing an acute crisis of a psychiatric nature that may jeopardize their current community living situation. WHOA Crisis Stabilization will serve individuals of all ages. These services are time-limited interventions provided typically but not solely in the residence of the individual who is at risk of being hospitalized. WHOA is committed to providing quality one-on-one service and will remain in compliance with the 1:5 ratio of QMHP-A/QMHP-C of all staff

STRUCTURED PROGRAM OF CARE

  • A comprehensive psychosocial assessment is completed during the initial phase. This enables the counselor to focus in on specific areas that need to be addressed in the course of treatment. From this assessment, an Individualized Service Plan (ISP) Is created to utilize the client’s strength’s to address areas of need, which is then used in the treatment process. Counselors meet with the clients on a weekly basis up to 10 hours per week.
  • Improve the client’s level of functioning at home and in the community
  • Educate on strategies to strengthen the family structure and home environment
